[NOTE 1] LMD controller “LMD-C1-1E” is a model that combines the “Ethernet converter” and “LMD-C1-1S“. The firmware of the two is the same.
LMD-C3-1S is a model that disables several port functions (Ethernet, TTL, BH1) of LMD-C2-1E to maximize the screen resolution. The firmware of the two is different.
[NOTE 2] Optional Parts of LMD controller:
① Ethernet converter(LMD-S2E) : converts Serial(TTL/RS232 ports) to Ethernet
② RS485 converter(LMD-RS485) : converts Serial(BH1 port) to RS485
③ Switch IO board(LMD-IO) : receives switching signals from PLC SSR or relay/switch to display the corresponding message
④ Relay board(LMD-Relay): controls peripheral devices such as warning lights, buzzers, fans and guide bars.
⑤ GPS time receiver(LMD-GPS) : receives and updates the accurate time data to the controller
⑥ Temperature / Humidity sensor(LMD-T-H) : displays temperature or humidity
⑦ CDS sensor for auto brightness control (LMD-CDS): adjusts the brightness of the LED screen according to the surrounding brightness.
⑧ Wifi / Bluetooth converter : using TTL/RS232 port of the controller
⑨ USB or SD card : increases the memory when multiple animation files included.

The LMD controller is designed to work with common HUB75 RGB 16×16 matrix LED modules (1/16 to 1/4 scan). However, actual specifications vary greatly between LED module manufacturers. The specifications below are based on the LED modules provided by us.

[NOTE 3] Pitch: Refers to the distance between pixels and generally varies from “2.5″ to “10” mm. If you need LED module with visibility over 30m (Pitch 15~30mm), please consult us.
[NOTE 4] Pixel: Manufactured in multiples of “16×16” pixels. Therefore, we can describe the size of the LED module as “Row x Column”. (Ex.) “2R x 4C” means “(2 x 16) x (4x16)” pixels.
[NOTE 5] Size: It means “Pitch(vertical) x Pixel(horizontal)”.
[NOTE 6] Scan rate: This means Dynamic Scan rate. The larger the value, the brighter it is and the more power it consumes. ☞Dynamic scan rate?
[NOTE 7] Brightness: Varies greatly depending on LED chip type, scan rate, etc. Indoor LED module requires 1500Nits or less while outdoor 4000 Nits or more. Outdoor LED module exposed to direct sunlight requires over 6000Nits. When you use the outdoor LED modules for indoor application, you can reduce the brightness to 30% or less. This is a good way to reduce glare, reduce power consumption, and increase lifespan.
[NOTE 8] Visibility(Best view distance): varies depending on LED pitch, brightness and font size. If you use bigger font in size, the visibility also get better.
[NOTE 9] Power: This is the maximum power consumption when all LEDs in the LED module are turned on white. Typically, 40% of this power is required when only a TEXT message is to be displayed.
[NOTE 10] Where to use: Divided into Indoor, semi-indoor, and Outdoor. For outdoor modules, we provide waterproof packing also.
[NOTE 11]: This LED modules is made of DIP type LED chip while common LED modules with a pitch of 10mm or less are made of SMD (Surface Mounted Diode) type chip. DIP (Dual In-line Package) type chips is brighter and more durable, so we recommend you to use it for outdoor LED modules with a pitch of 10mm or more.

To use HUB75 LED module with LMD Controller, you must correctly set the followings:

  1. To set Screen resolution according to “Protocol Simulator Manual,  A-6“
  2. To set Display signal type according to “Protocol Simulator Manual,  A-7“

If the above two settings are not successful, the LED module is not compatible with LMD controller. For more on this matter, please consult us.
